UN Declaration on the Rights of the Indigenous Peoples recognizes and reaffirms all human rights and freedoms, traditional lands, resources, self-determination and many more. In the long march towards the fulfillment of the Declaration many international instruments guides the member countries to defend the Human Rights in general. TNTDS requests the solidarity and full partnership of Activists and Organizations like you to ensure Human Rights.

Our vision is for a world where indigenous Peoples are recognized and respected; free to live on their own lands, safe from violence, oppression and exploitation.

Government refers Indigenous people as Scheduled Tribes in India. They are commonly known as Adivasis which means original people in Sanskrit language. In fact they are the native people and early settlers of the country.

TNTDS was founded by Ms. A. Kalai Selvi, an Indigenous woman and Mr. C. Arokia Dass, a Dalit activist in the year 1986. The other members were also from the above said communities and they themselves realized the extent of exploitation, oppression and alienation in the name of caste. They came forward to serve their fellowmen.
